As we all waited passionately for the great evening to arrive, all our wait and eagerness was well answered with the star studded celebs sprinkling their glamour to the Oscar Awards 2014. It was worth witnessing how our beloved stars dressed up and have set new trends for us to follow.

Angelina Jolie's 42 carat flawless diamond earrings

Though the special night was dazzled with so many sensuous ladies, yet Angelina Jolie managed to steal all the attention and she sparkled far more than anyone else could do. For the event, she wore Elie Saab Haute Couture gown which was distinctively designed with sparkling bead work dripping till the bottom. To give it a perfect match, she adorned her ear lobes with 42 carat flawless diamond earrings.

Robert Procop, her jewelry designer lets out word of praise saying that the beautiful actress has an artistic taste in jewelry and he loved working with her. They both have spent much time giving finishing touch to the large, perfectly cut, flawless round diamond they could find for the earrings. The magnificent earrings were well complimented by her diamond engagement ring.

Royal Jewels

Royal Jewels, call it an obsession or whatever, they are hard to forget. Royal jewelry is not just a reminiscent of yesteryear art but it holds a high value for being so unique, rare and exclusive.

Those ages old diamonds, heirloom sapphires, rubies, emeralds and various gemstones cost millions for their rarity and historical significance.

Though I’m mostly interested in British royal jewels (because they are larger in the collection and more famous), I also love to dig out the stories of other empire jewels. Therefore, I found some really interesting tiaras and crowns of French and Russian kingdom to name a few.

If you also have a fancy for these antiques, check out them here. Also please share if you know anything about the old world royal charms.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar Engaged!

If you thought they don’t make that kind of men anymore, maybe you should read it further. Famous American actor, Mark-Paul Gosselaar always knew that whenever he would propose, he would do it with an engagement ring that is nothing less than perfect.

His jeweler said, “He’s a romantic at heart and he was looking to express it. I worked on creating her dream ring for about a month. She had seen a ring of mine and Mark-Paul brought in a photo of it and we started customizing it, finding the perfect stone, showing sketches, discussing the mounting and how many smaller diamonds it would have and really designing it together. It’s rare to find a guy who really wants to find the perfect ring and be so very involved in the process.”

The result of their working together was this romantic diamond engagement ring that has a fine 3-carat cushion cut diamond as the center stone. The huge rock is surrounded by smaller round diamonds and is precisely crafted in platinum. In all, the ring totals to approximately 5-carats.

And for all the ladies who dreamed of getting the most perfect engagement ring, well its time that we feel jealous of Catriona McGinn, Mark’s fiancée.

According to a recent news by an American Magazine, Elizabeth Taylor’s magnificent Jewelry Collection will soon be auctioned by the famed auction house, Christie’s. Although Christie’s have not yet confirmed any such reports, Taylor’s jewelry is estimated to be worth $150 million.

Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor was not only a jewelry lover but possessed many fine and much sought after jewels which included the 33 carat Krupp diamond and the famous heart shaped Taj Mahal diamond.

Peter Sedghi, President of Luxury Jewels of Beverly Hills believed that the actress possessed more knowledge about gems and jewelry than many jewelry experts. He said, “To be honest, she knew more than I did [about jewelry]. When you would show her stones, she would tell you the origin, if it’s good quality, bad quality, where it came from. She had a collection like I’ve never seen before.”
