Oh! The diamonds, they are so brilliant and beautiful that I fall in love with them all over again as and when I see them. Whether they are sparkling in my vault (I own a small diamond ring, a pendant and my favorite solitaire studs), on the internet (I love to search for diamond jewelry especially engagement rings), in the shops or even if someone is wearing them (that’s a matter of envy sometime), diamonds always allure me.
Recently when the most awaited news of Angelina Jolie’s engagement came and then the pictures of her extravagant ring was uploaded on the internet, it awakened my grey matter and I want deep into the lands of exotic and unique .
is absolutely an epitome of thoughtful craftsmanship and it instantly speaks about the celestial love Brad has for her. Similar to this excellent expression of love, here are few baubles from the galleries of past which are exceptional and elegant and clearly echo about the serious sentiments they were made to express.
The first ring in my list is though simple yet is a powerful bling. It was a three stone diamond ring given by Prince Philip to Queen Elizabeth II. Prince Philip for the ring used the heirloom diamonds from his mother’s tiara.
The 12 carat emerald cut diamond engagement ring from Prince Rainier to Grace Kelly was another historic bling worth mentioning. It was said that Prince first bought a diamond and ruby eternity band for his bride-to-be but when he saw the big and brilliant engagement rings of other tinsel-town starlets; he instantly got it replace with this giant diamond ring.
Prince Charles went a bit historic when he decided to walk to the altar for the second time. To propose Camilla Parker Bowles, he picked an heirloom ring which was given to him by his grandmother Queen Elizabeth. The ring has an emerald cut diamond flanked by three baguettes on each side of the center diamond.
I can’t forget to mention Elizabeth Taylor. Her collection of jewelry is worth to die for. When Mike Todd proposed the Hollywood Cleopatra he did it with a 29.4 carat emerald cut diamond ring. Certainly it was a Princely manner.
Like Prince Rainier, Prince Albert II of Monaco also picked a royal treat for his future bride Charlene Wittstock. He gave her a 3 carat pear shaped brilliant diamond ring which had a unique grey gold setting with brilliant diamond accent luster.
