It was the premier of “Sparkle” the last movie that starred singing legend Whitney Houston but due to Houstons untimely death this year, her daughter Bobbi Kristina and ‘adopted son’ Nick Gordon had to take her place at the event. Just as the name of the movie Sparkle the twosome had some sparkling diamond jewelry for their red carpet appearance.
A lot of people were taken aback they walked the red carpet not as brother and sister but rather as boyfriend and girlfriend. The 19-year old, Bobbi opted for a clinging bandage dress that displayed her curves at the best and she paired it with feathered stilettos. But the most striking thing about her ensemble was her mother’s diamond ring. While Nick, opted for a black suit, that looked remarkable along with his sparkling diamond stud.
Nick was not officially adopted by Whitney but she treated him like family until her death at the age of 48. In fact both Bobbi and Nick have lived together as brother and sister for over a decade. Whitney had taken Nick when he was 12 and his father had gone to the prison and his mother was not in a condition to take care of him.
The controversial couple have been sharing Houston’s $1.2million Atlanta home together ever since singing superstar died due to an accidental drowning complicated by heart disease and cocaine use.
In this movie Whitney Houston plays Emma who is the mother of Sparkle Anderson (Jordin Sparks) and her two sisters. This remake of the 1976 movie musical is a story of the mother and her three daughters who are trying to make it as a motown girlband.
Not only her two children even Whitney’s grieving mother Ciccy Houston was there at the premier to be the part of the audience. She was there to see her daughter’s last appearance on the big screen.
