We can’t expect any event to be illuminated without the presence of diamonds and Cannes Film Festival 2012 is no exception to this. One of the most coveted red carpet events of the entertainment world has once again presented the brilliance and luxury of Cinema and Celebrity cosmos.
The 65th Cannes Film Festival has triggered on May 16, 2012 with the premiere of American film “Moonrise Kingdom” directed by Wes Anderson. For the opening ceremony followed by the second and third day of the movie fare, celebrities arrived in flawless ensembles paired with scintillating diamond jewels.
Diamond is a part of fashion world for centuries and it never disappointed the beauty divas who trusted it for their head-turning looks. This year it was similar. Actresses like Diana Kruger, Berenice Bejo, Jessica Chastain, Jane Fonda, Lana Del Rey, Eva Longoria, Fan Bingbing etc. are few ravishing examples of this year’s diamond splendor.
Long sleek diamond dangles, pendant earrings, intricate studs, encrusted rings, designer cuffs and necklaces are shining astonishingly at the gala. And probably by the end of the event we would have a range of another glowing fashion designs.
With long floor sweeping train gowns in vogue, diamond jewelry worn by the celebs on the first three days of the gala was perfectly a justified thought.
This year Cannes had also paid a moving tribute to the Hollywood queen Marilyn Monroe through its official poster. The poster spotting the legendry beauty blowing off a candle over the cake is an honorable tribute on her 50th death anniversary which coincides with the 65th anniversary of Cannes Film Festival.
Such an occasion demands a lot more and so the diamonds once again came forward in paying homage to the breathtaking diva. Model Eva Herzigova paired her Dolce & Gabbana lace gown with a custom made Chopard diamond necklace and done a Marilyn Monroe hair-do. With a similar smile like the late beauty and a golden clutch, Eva showed the spectacular retro glamor of Monroe at Cannes.
There’s a lot to explain about the style, fashion, designs and luxury that all together landed a vibrant effect on the festival’s charm. But it is better to feel it as pictures have the potential to speak louder and clearer than words…
